Band Member Bios

Michael Henson

Michael is one of the original founders of Carter Bridge. He sings and plays guitar, and brings a number of original songs to the band. Michael is also an author. His latest literary work is “Secure the Shadow,” from Ohio University Press.

Elissa Pogue

Elissa is the other founding member of the band. She made the jump from reading music and classical piano to playing auto harp, bass - and a little banjo - by ear. She believes singing and playing music with such talented and supportive musicians is a great way to pray.

Jeff Trauth

Raised in the Bluegrass State of Kentucky, guitarist/mandolin/bass player Jeff Trauth has been immersed in music from his youth. He grew up listening to Flatt and Scruggs, the Stanley Brothers, and especially Doc Watson. He played in his church, and later in acoustic bands, but never strayed far from his first love - Bluegrass. He enjoys promoting Bluegrass music, road trips to festivals, and especially picking a song or two. Jeff primarily plays guitar with Carter Bridge, but also takes turns on the mandolin and upright bass.

Jerry Bullmaster

A long time fan of Bluegrass Music, Jerry has been playing fiddle around Southwest Ohio since 2015, making the rounds at numerous show venues, jams, and the occasional radio spot. He was invited to join Carter Bridge in 2018. Jerry also plays banjo and guitar.
